Right now we are staying around the corner from Centre Pompidou in the Marais.
I love being near the Stravinsky Fountain with the Niki de Saint Phalle and Tinguely mechanical statues (inspired by the music of Igor Stravinsky). They move around and spurt and you can't beat Saint Phalle's NaNa's (giant women).
But the activities of daily life (le train-train quotidien in French) are equally exciting to me. Today for example, we did laundry at la laverie libre-service (laundromat) and I was thrilled to discover a new word: hublot, as in Fermez le hublot (porthole).
